Frame by frame
Stop motion animation and traditional animation are the ancestors of contemporary motion graphics and visual effects. People like Norman McLaren, who developed innovative stop motion and traditional animation techniques, Walter Disney, who created Mickey Mouse in 1928 and Saul Bass, who basically invented what modern motion graphics is today, are amongst the pioneers of this field. Here are some video samples of their work that have been in existence for over 50 years and they are still not outdated.
